Passion

In a deliberate way, I haven’t been too keyed into the presidential race yet. Sometimes, there is reason to pay attention to news, though. Seeking trusted sources for information to base personal decisions on without being lead by a heavily crafted manipulation takes more time than I may have in a window between work and daily responsibilities. So, lately, I have been passing on almost any info. I would rather not go through the day shaking internally over the state of insanity that our political system has brought to life.

There is a candidate, at least one-but I’m going to focus on one right now, who expresses his love and joy in a passionate way. He obviously loves the country, and understands people, and has been in office for a few years. How refreshing, but that’s what was said about Howard Dean several years ago, and look at what ‘they’ did to him. It seems no one thinks this guy, this current candidate, is electable. But for speaking to my heart, and convincing me of how much he loves this country (something currently lacking in the powers that be), that’s where my dollar will go today.

As much as I don’t like what’s going on, I can’t completely blame those who have been working to destroy so much of what is great about this country for the past six and a half years. There’s a system in place that has not been working, no one has held these criminals accountable. It’s frightening to see how cowardly so many of us really are.

The topic is passion. Do you have any? Does it go beyond your latest trip to the chain of burger places or the bright lights of whatever chain you look forward to pulling your plastic out in? What have any of us done for this country lately?
